This is a 419 scam that operates from criminals from various countries. Some of the countries are Nigeria, Africa, and many places in Asia. So how does this scam operate? Unsuspecting victims are typically award a huge amount of money; this is commonly called an, inheritance, lottery prize, or just money sitting inside a third party bank account scam.
These criminals will never give you a dime after promising a ton of money. They typically use gerneric fake e-mail addresses (Google, Hotmail, or Yahoo.) They will commonly use fake postal addresses, too. Here is an example of their scam (actual email):
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are pleased to inform you that your e-mail address has won in the UNF
GRANT DRAW.Therefore you have been approve for a lump sum payout
($1,000,000.00 USD) in the UNF GRANT DRAW. Your Qualification
Numbers(G-999-747,UZ-900-77), Your e-mail ID emerged as one of the winners
in the 1st category.
