I am a pretty no-nonsense person when it comes to shopping online. I only use sites that I trust and that I have had experience with before. I am always weary of sites that present luxury items at a very low price. And now more so since I started receiving report-online-scams via Facebook.
While perusing a major publication’s online fashion section, I found an ad for this website: http://www.louboutinfashion.com and was immediately intrigued. I have been keeping my eye on a pair of Louboutin shoes for quite a while and decided to give it a chance.
Normally, the pair of shoes I am interested in cost around $700.00 retail and needless to say, I was ecstatic that I had found this site with the same shoes going for $159.99. After I kept navigating through the site, I noticed a lot of misspelled words and crass grammatical errors.
I started asking myself if this was real, so I enlisted the help of a very tech savvy friend to do some in depth investigation of the site. He proceeded to tell me that the IP address originates from China and that the e-commerce feature is not secure. Needless to say, these red flags prevented me from probably making a big shopping mistake.
Who knows where in the world will my credit card info end up! This is a warning to all the ladies that love a bargain, specially designer merchandise at lower prices! Don’t be fooled by these fake merchandise sites. If you are not buying from a well known department store or online merchant you are probably being duped! Not only in paying for a product that is not what you expect or even the real thing, but you also run the risk of having your identity stolen or your credit card used without your consent.
